A self-portrait
The starting point of this piece began a few years ago. When many different incidents, images, and events began to penetrate my mind. Some stayed, some got transformed and some made changes in me.
All these incidents, images, and events, in addition to their traces in me, became “May I Show You?”.
On the one hand, the piece is a self-portrait, but it is not wholly personal due to all those things that made me make it, therefore it’s not all about me, but about my home, my neighborhood, my city, my country, and the world I’m living in.
The piece is a composition made by assembling all those events, images, incidents, and their traces in a new context, and presumably, this assemblage gets shaped differently each time it’s going to be re-composed.
